Overall, I think that Rex's best is better than Griese's best. For that reason, Rex deserved the benefit of the doubt for some time.
That said, we do not need Rex's best - we only need him to be average. Since he has not been able to deliver even an average performance, we need to be able to evaluate whether Griese can do it - even for 1/2 a game.
Especially with the Bears having to probably win only 2 of the next 4 games to get home field advantage, we have time to experiment (and "keep players healthy for the playoffs.")
Remember that Lovie has precedence on saying one thing and doing another, precisely on this subject. He was saying the exact same things about Orton last year when the Bears had a similar (if not exact - I can't remember) record. Of course Lovie pulled Kyle the Bearded Boilermaker and we were all thrilled, weren't we?

I've got to agree w/ Bearister that the Bears have nothing to lose by trying Griese in at QB. Since every defense in the league knows how to stop Rex, at least it will shake things up a bit and maybe, just maybe, give the offense a chance to win a game and not have to rely on Urlacher and Hester to win games.
I agree with everybody else that Rex’s robust 1.3 QB rating should not be leading the offense the rest of the season (although, please, please, put him in for the last game of the season). I think that next year we will find out if Rex was just a flash in the pan, or if he can be consistent. By the way, I wonder what the Bearded Wonder thinks of all this? Surely he could have put in a better performance on Sunday.
Speaking of Britney and Fed-up, where is that boudoir tape that we are all waiting for? I’m surprised Larry Flynt hasn’t gotten his hands on it yet. One month post break-up and all I get are revealing pics of her getting out of a limo. It must be a teaser.

Just thinking about it saps your IQ at a rate of (your iq - brittany's cup size + the number of kfeds rap albums sold) x the number of seconds you think about it!
